Prachanda-Nepal faction holding nationwide protest against HoR dissolution today
The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is holding a nationwide demonstration against the dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR) on Tuesday.
The disgruntled faction has been staging protests saying that the government’s decision to dissolve the HoR is unconstitutional anti-democratic and against the mandate of the people.
The Prachanda-Nepal faction is holding a huge mass meeting at Bhrikutimandap today in which top-notch leaders including NCP Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachand are scheduled to address the gathering, according to NCP sources.
Protest rallies will be organized at various places in the Kathmandu Valley for which over 40,000 cadres have been mobilized, said the Prachanda-Nepal faction.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari dissolved the federal parliament on the recommendation of the Oli-led government on December 20.
Who is leading which rally?
Yuvaraj Gyawali is leading the rally coming out of Teku. Central committee members from Chandragiri, Nagarjuna, Kirtipur and Dhading are said to be participating in the rally. Similarly, Beduram Bhusal is leading the rally from Kuleshwor. Leaders and activists of Dakshinkali and Chitwan districts will participate in the rally.
Similarly, Ramdeep Acharya is leading in Kalikot of Karnali and Niraj Acharya is leading in Jajarkot. In Rukum West, Anil, Rajkumar Sharma, in Dailekh, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, Raj Bahadur Budha and Vishnu Rijal are leading. Vijay Bhandari in Humla, Gajendra Mahat in Jumla, Devilal Thapa, Ram Kumari Jhakri and Nar Bahadur Bista in Surkhet are leading the party.
